Can you still lose weight with a workout DVD instead of going to the gym?

I recently found an old copy of a Jane Fonda workout video from the 80's when my mom was clearing out the basement. I hate the gym and so I thought I'd give it a try. Anyway, it's a really good workout with 35 minutes aerobics before another 30 minutes floor work (abs, legs, arms). Is it still possible to lose weight doing this instead of having to pay a membership to go to the gym? I do it 3-4 times a week
