Mickey Mantle cards...............?

on this new site called Weny there is a guy who is auctioning off a Mickey Mantle card that he said that he bought from an older genteman. He is saying they are reprints but, he is not sure. My question is how can you tell if a card is a reprint? The guy that is selling it says there is some wear on the corners. Should I bid on it or not?
