Characteristics of nearsighted people at the eye doctor?

I am writing a story and one part of it is about someone who is nearsighted at the eye place. Apart from the obvious of not being able to see in the distance, would they complain of sore eyes, blink excessively to refocus etc? This is weird but I just want to create a realistic story, so thanks.
